ERA provides technical assistance and co-investment support to micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), financial services providers, local NGOs, educational institutions, cities, and consolidated communities. USAID support will enable partners to acquire and test new technologies, rebuild and scale businesses to new markets, build capacity, leverage it solutions and share information. Interventions will be managed by partners whose business models, growth strategies, and mandates align with the ERA’s objectives and who demonstrate strong commitment. ERA focuses on working in the following three areas: economic stabilization; sustainable MSME growth and integration; and building confidence in eastern Ukraine’s economy.
Partners are selected through an open and competitive process.
The USAID Economic Resilience Activity targets quick response, high-impact interventions that address the immediate economic needs of businesses and their communities, while laying the groundwork for long-term investment. Our partnerships in this area strengthen existing businesses and support new enterprises.
To support the sustainable growth of MSMEs, ERA partners with businesses, NGOs, and universities to de-risk and catalyze market-led growth in eastern Ukraine, improve the business enabling environment, and strengthen workforce skills through career centers, co-working spaces, incubators or accelerators, and innovative and sustainable on-line learning platforms.
ERA engages with a wide spectrum of stakeholders to develop a shared optimistic vision of eastern Ukraine’s economic future. The USAID Activity will partner with newly formed amalgamated communities, businesses, and government actors to empower local stakeholders to imagine a bold new vision for the economy of the region.
